my first knitted sweater!!!

Sarah over at Long Tall Yarn shared this baby sweater pattern with me.  It’s supposed to be a five hour sweater.

More like ten.

It was very nice to knit though.  The pattern was very flexible in what yarns and needles could be used.

Very forgiving.

If I were to knit it again, though, I would add button holes.  Still, I’m happy to add it to my growing collection of items for the baby.

Thanks, Sarah!

    • I have been playing around with I-cords, but they just seem disproportianate and clunky on such a small sweater.

Maybe it’s because I haven’t found the right buttons yet.

  1. I can envision what you are saying about the chunky I-cord. Here’s another idea: I made a pair of baby booties for a friend (http://www.ravelry.com/patterns/library/saartjes-bootees) that had a really cool closure on the end of the strap. I had to find a tutorial on how to do the “button loop” closure. Here is an excellent one: http://ysolda.com/support/pictorial-guides/sewn-button-loops/

Not sure if it will work as well on a larger surface but they looked great on the booties, which were a more delicate item.
